Jonathan Wörn
Researcher
Responsibilities
I am a researcher at the Centre for Fertility and Health, a Centre of Excellence (SFF) founded by The Norwegian Research Council. My research interests largely fall within the areas of family, work and health. With a background in quantitative sociology, I am curious about the long-term effects of early life experiences and about intra- and intergenerational spillover effects within the family. Much of my current research is concerned with family experiences (partnering, breakups, parent- and grandparenthood) and other life events (sickness, job loss, the COVID-pandemic) and how they affect both adult and adolescent family members. Much of this work builds on Norwegian register data and assesses mental health as an important outcome.
Background
I obtained a M.A. in Sociology from the University of Mannheim (Germany) and received a PhD from the University of Cologne for my thesis on social determinants of cognitive aging.
